Clifton, VA – Three Centreville seniors signed their national letters of intent this month to play on scholarship at Division I schools, the baseball program is proud to announce.
Left-handed pitchers Ryan Ashooh and Connor Bach and shortstop/right-handed pitcher Chris Campbell each made their college decisions official with the signing, Ashooh with the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Bach with the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington and Campbell with Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD.
Ashooh, who is entering his fourth varsity season this spring, was the co-Pitcher of the Year in the Concorde District and a first-team all-Northern Region selection as a junior, throwing a shutout in a 1-0 win at top seed McLean in the first round of the Northern Region tournament. Bach, who also plays in the outfield and at first base, was a second-team all-district selection, and Campbell earned his second all-district honor as the Wildcats went 10-13 and advanced to the regional tournament for the first time since 2003.
The three are joined by two other seniors, second baseman Andy Viands (Christopher Newport University) and right-handed pitcher J.T. Hampel (University of Mary Washington), who have committed to play at Division III schools.
All five players are part of a core group of players that will enter their third season together on Centreville’s varsity team this spring.
