Clifton, VA – The Centreville High School baseball program is finishing its offseason preparations with the 2010 season just around the corner this month.

The Wildcats, who finished 10-13 last year, falling to Lake Braddock in the Northern Region quarterfinals after qualifying for regionals for the first time since 2003, enter the campaign seeking their first winning season in seven years and to compete for their first-ever Concorde District championship.

Centreville begins practice on Monday, February 22 and will hold a preseason banquet at the Hyatt Fair Lakes on Monday, March 8. The Wildcats will open their season by hosting Leesburg Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, then head south to Chesapeake, Virginia, to play Greenbriar Christian Academy on Friday, March 19 and Cape Henry Collegiate on Saturday, March 20.

The Wildcats will then host Battlefield on Thursday, March 25, before traveling to Florida to compete in the Sarasota Baseball Classic from March 29-April 1. Centreville will then return home to host Loudoun Valley on Wednesday, April 7 before opening its district schedule with a home date against defending champion Westfield on Tuesday, April 13.
