Clifton, VA – Senior LHP Ryan Ashooh struck out 10 in tossing his fourth complete-game shutout in his past five starts and senior 1B Cam Walter homered for the third consecutive game as the Centreville baseball team knocked off Herndon, 10-0, tonight to claim sole possession of first place in the Concorde District.

Ashooh struck out the side in the first inning and Walter, who would finish 2-for-3 with four RBI, lifted a pitch over the left-field fence after junior LF Mark McCormick and senior CF David DeLorimier reached base in the bottom half of the first, giving the Wildcats an early 3-0 advantage.

Walter, McCormick and DeLorimier each had multiple-hit games to pace a 13-hit attack for Centreville, which improved to 11-5 overall and 5-2 in the district entering Friday’s Senior Night game against Chantilly. The loss dropped Herndon to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the district.
