Chantilly, VA – The No. 5 seed Robinson baseball team took an early 3-0 lead and then held off No. 4 seed Chantilly to advance to the semifinals of the Concorde District tournament with a 5-4 win over the host Chargers last night.

With the win, the Rams advance to face No. 1 seed Centreville on Friday night at 6 p.m. at Westfield. In the second semifinal, No. 2 seed Westfield will take on N0. 6 seed Oakton, which defeated No. 3 seed Herndon, 13-6, in the other quarterfinal game last night.

The Wildcats swept the regular season series with Robinson, using a school-record 16 strikeout performance from senior LHP Ryan Ashooh in a 7-0 win at home on April 27, then defeating the Rams, 14-3, on the road in the regular season finale last Thursday.

The winner of Friday’s semifinal games will meet in the championship game on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Chantilly.
